Elliot’s Axiom

Note: Anyone associated with Eliquate — the Next Big Thing — should scroll back to the previous two posts, and take them in before dabbling with the lyrics here… which were put together exclusively for the kind consideration of the band and their manager. The lyrics are far from being written in stone. They are meant to stimulate, to stir up creative juices. And they are offered up gratis, with the grateful attitude the comes from being honored to — maybe, all else being equal (which is never the case in life, granted) — collaborate with like-minded souls. Blah blah blah. The lyrics could be re-designed so that particular local points were addressed, singling out specific “issues” Elliot intends to deal with before dying. Could extrapolate, of course, so that broader issues are addressed.

Update: The Eliquate gig slated for the Catalyst on 1/25/14 is billed as a benefit for the Surfrider Foundation. With that in mind, I pray that I’ll be able to serve up my “two cents” to the band prior to their concert. For the Surfrider Foundation Mission http://www.surfrider.org/pages/strategic-plan and action plans sorely need a supplement. And… I have one for everyone’s kind consideration. And… it could be addressed at the concert by Elliot.

Elliot’s Axiom
With a nod to Edna St. Vincent Millay and all others who are out of their minds
by Ox(man) and Apeman

Scene: Hands up, Elliot comes onto the stage, signaling ‘quiet’ to the audience. When all is still he begins by whispering, jacking up the vocal — simultaneously — with the band ‘at the appropriate moment’.

Out Of My World

Death is not a dude with a scythe in hand
It’s a woman in a band
With a long long long curving blade coming out of her mouth
With enough tough tongue to take in the most reluctant of residents on earth
OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!

Coming for you… Eyeing for you

Now ‘eliquate’ is about easy flow
But I want you to know
Lady Death Eyes

With your hand in my mouth
You shall drag me forth
Clutching at the South
And Screaming at the North

Lady Death Eyes

I won’t go easy
Into that Fucked Night

You gonna have a fight on your hands
Lady Death Eyes

Trying to take me out of this world
Trying to take me out of this world
Trying to take me out of this world

[To the band] Take me out now!

With your hand in my mouth
You shall drag me forth
Clutching at the South
And screaming at the north

Lady Death Eyes
Lady Death Eyes
Lady Death Eyes

GET GET GET GET GET GET OUT OF MY WORLD!

Afterthoughts:

One day the Kinks wrote a song called “I’m Not Like Everybody Else” (http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=apeman+kinks&FORM=VIRE1#view=deta il&mid=EA8F94E37E438C6A5C66EA8F94E37E438C6A5C66)…. which I listened to this morning after writing the above… which will affect me throughout the day today, I imagine. Along with Monbiot’s cry out of England today (http://www.zcommunications.org/freedom-is-something-to-use-or-lose-we -must-fight-the-antisocial-behaviour-bill-by-george-monbiot.html)… which echoes the emails I received last night from Nigeria and the Nantucket Film Festival. I’m going out of my mind trying to put all this shit together, trying to mobilize people to move in solidarity on some basis to deal with our horrid momentum. Fine, though, if no one sees the need to do so. That would all come under the umbrella of, say, “That’s as it is.” Then… music and art and poetry and the like become even more important, enabling one to truly depart this world with its mundane mendacity and mind-fucking morass… and enter into — for me — Family Bliss, the kiss of LIFE. Ah, which brings me to Dire Straits (not the ones we’re in at present): http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=walk+of+life+dire+straits&FORM=VIR E1#view=detail&mid=59826480DED838B66AD959826480DED838B66AD9

On the Santa Cruz Weekly ‘Currents’ section: Jeez! I wish someone out there would help me to address the highly misleading MESS (in caps, yes!), courtesy of inserts like http://www.santacruz.com/news/2014/01/21/new_ucsc_study_gives_otter_pr ops AND http://www.santacruz.com/news/2014/01/07/will_conservation_really_work _in_santa_cruz. I mean, surely it’s possible to secure ads for the publication without selling out to such disingenuous drivel. Well, perhaps the authors of the articles are not being dishonest. Maybe they’re simply ignorant about what’s actually going on in the realms they’re writing about. Well… a weekly column cornering the market on what the real deal is vis-à-vis THE ENVIRONMENT might go a very long way toward generating greater readership for Dan’s publication. Regardless, I’d really love to see the newspaper address the questions like Why does UCSC’s rag City on the Hill use such a name? Don’t the powers that be at UC know of the name’s association with the maniacal genocide which took place under the Manifest Destiny umbrella?

Special note for T: Regarding that analogy with the elevator… I failed to mention that as everyone was fighting the good fight in their tiny little oh-so-important corners, the elevator was dropping down out of control ’cause a cable had been loosened… which begged to be dealt with by the group in solidarity… each fighter climbing on one another’s shoulders… so that someone could ascend to the top of the unit… so that the cable could be reattached properly. Failed to mention that little point.

Fail. Fail again. Fail again better.

More LYRICS FOR ELLIOT:
At parties I am rarely happy
My conversation isn’t snappy
When I’m at home and in my bed
I think of what I should have said

Ultimately, the question must be how much responsibility do politicians and regulators bear for allowing plundering of the earth and its inhabitants to occur under the guise of economic development? The deeper question, perhaps, is how much responsibility do we bear if we, the people, allow it to continue?

Doesn’t matter if someone has embraced the Tea Party, Libertarianism, any form of anarchism, whatever. I can work with everyone from Black Block masked activists moving in the dark to open-air communists and socialists respecting the boldfaced blah blah above. For I’ve got a way to enable total transparency and trustworthiness to thrive. And I submit that that should make everyone — everyone — feel more alive.
