Nightmare-unwise

Gilbert Achcar teaches political science at the University of Paris-VIII. Recently, in an Andrew Kennedy interview, he noted:

“It takes some 50 Hizbollah rockets to kill one Israeli on average in the ongoing confrontation. But what if devices could be made to inflict mass destruction on Israel? That is what Israel is inciting against itself. Zawahiri, Bin Laden’s second-in-command, made a statement calling for strikes against Israel as if he wanted to outbid Hizbollah. Israel is presently inflicting a terrible nightmare on the Lebanese, it has been inflicting a permanent nightmare on the Palestinians, but it is also preparing an appalling nightmare for its own people.”

Ditto for the people of the U.S., Nightmare-unwise.

That is why each and every reader is obliged to stop business as usual –on every possible level– as per the previous article. The oblique, tactful choice of words there –the suggestions– have zero to do with anti-semitism, and everything to do with groping for something to do which will be efficacious, expeditious.

Nightmare is as Nightmare does.

It would be wise to dream away the nightmares which already envelop us all.

Do not sleep well. They do not sit well.

COMPARE AND CONTRAST THE ABOVE VERSION WITH THE TREATMENT BELOW, IF YOU WILL.

Do Not Merely March to Hell: Nightmare-unwise

That is why each and every reader is obliged to stop business as usual "on every possible level" as per my “Qana Anon And On” article http://oxtogrind.org/archive/175). Fifty such actions –one for each state?– will do as much to impact on the atrocities as 500,000 people showing up on August 12th to protest in the streets of The Empire…courtesy of concerned citizens (like ANSWER et. al.) The actions don’t have to be mutually exclusive, do they?
The oblique, tactful choice of words in my previous “Qana” piece "the suggestions" have zero to do with anti-semitism, and everything to do with groping for something to do which will be efficacious, expeditious.
Nightmare is as Nightmare does.
It would be wise to dream away the nightmares which already envelop us all.
Do not sleep well. They do not sit well.
Do not merely march to Hell.
