Ne vale la pena?

Even if one doesn’t care about others as per Devinder Sharma’s http://www.tamilnation.org/intframe/080922devinder_sharma.htm, readers should sure as hell heed the “warning” in Dave Lindorff’s “The Bailout Will Kill the Dollar” ( http://www.counterpunch.org/lindorff09232008.html ).

ALERT: You don’t have to read my blah blah below. You can go directly to the links provided at the end of this article, and draw your own conclusions… if you don’t want to dialogue with me.

Forgive my style of writing here. However, this subject is so serious that frivolity with an oblique touch is begged for artistically, demanded on another plane*.

*Nevertheless, upon request I will be glad to explain all in the most mundane, crystal-clear prose.

Apparently, my 2008 birthday yesterday — 9/21 — was a landmark day tantamount to the infamous 9/11. I recommend that anyone I’ve sent to this site for self-educational purposes… try to absorb what’s quickly and randomly thrown on the table here for digestion… in the name of seriously considering joining hands with us in Italy OR (at the very least) moving laterally on your own… elsewhere/in a new way.

It’s not that Italy isn’t monstrous on many significant counts. Rather, the point is that if you want to enjoy these “last days of yours” midst our disgusting complicity on many fronts… you can do it enveloped by beauty… tasting the finest olive oil, and charmed by sweet energy OR you can die a slow death on this Titanic. Or…?

I got virtually zero response to previous “calls” based on my delineation of our inhumanity overseas and blatant domestic abominations. Few, if any, truly recoiled in horror. Ostrich Syndrome? I’m gone now from the constituents’ callous, and boring cakewalk, measuring out lives in teaspoons. I’m ready to choke on porcini mushrooms abroad with Marcel and Sylvie in my arms. (1)

What’s mushrooming will not go away. The Titanic will not right itself. Cannot.

I figure that the latest economic news — slated to directly and significantly/overwhelmingly impact on pocketbooks and lifestyle IMMEDIATELY… might make a difference at this juncture. Might move people to move on… where the wars and environmental wackiness wouldn’t, have not.

If not, so be it. Below is what I promised. This is serious do-do, unprecedented by any standards. I do hope to be seeing you around (transformed), otherwise I wouldn’t be writing to you. I trust that you already feel deeply This Disfigurement, smell blue what’s seeping. Have for quite some time.

Take my advice, please. If a given article becomes boring or too dense… skip to the next one. The whole point, in fact, is to motivate you to… Jump To Something New.

(1) It’s not that I haven’t tried to organize people in solidarity to fight. To put it mildly. If anyone thinks that the above is remotely related to “running away” they should contact me ASAP. It’s not that fighting is not admirable. Rather, I’m thinking that it’s essential to acknowledge that the predictable/stock/common “No more” solutions offered up at the end of Ron Jacobs’ “The Predators’ Bailout” ( http://www.counterpunch.org/jacobs09222008.html ) have “no chance.” Ditto for the unhelpful suggestions offered up by freaked-out, middle-of-the-road Rev. There’s no way to save the day without acknowledging the inefficacy of the above “advice” for starters, the well-intentioned nature of the sources notwithstanding. I’ll never stop looking for people who do understand that fact… whether I’m in Lucca Province or stuck in this Loony Bin. But, for all practical purposes, everyone I’ve reached out to would rather remain in Routine than read and discuss and do… something new.
