As I’m writing this article, I’m in the process this morning of going back and forth with Noam Chomsky… extracting teeth via email… trying to get him to delineate what he would like OUR GOVERNOR OF CALIFORNIA* (not Arnie, but the one that’ll be in office following the 2010 election) to spotlight… to address vigorously, creatively, REPEATEDLY from the Sacred Seat in Sacramento. I’m trying to explain to him that we’re not just interested in California concerns, but national and international issues also. And that we’ll be in a position to help the public to self-educate about this and that once we’ve secured that influential post. Especially since we’ll be getting the news out over our own media outlet, not via the mainstream (too highly edited) news outlets. Especially since we’ll have the attention of every single citizen in the country, not just residents of California… by virtue of having accomplished what amounts to a Don Quixote feat ON A ZERO BUDGET.

I am forced to rush in posting this because of my sense of urgency, so please forgive the form. I trust that what’s below will be sufficient to convey the thrust of what I have to offer, my concerns.

Imagine Eric, Barbara, Geoff, Lian, Tammy et al. serving — in tandem — as Governor of California, along with the likes of, say, Michael Parenti, Wallace J. Nichols, Derrick Jensen and a few choice others. As a group. All non-politicians. All decisions made together, as much as possible, once the Sacramento Seat is secured by the election of one of you as a figurehead. All meetings — ALL decision-making sessions — filmed in the name of helping the public to self-educate. Helping the average citizen to learn a bit more about what goes on behind (the routinely locked) doors, giving them a shot at deciding for themselves who the gangsters are, and who are the people who have their interests at heart.

I’m writing at a breakneck speed here, not taking the time to edit… for as I write the air in L.A. gets worse, more sea otters are being washed ashore, and more and more boring meetings, and conferences and the like are taking up too many heartbeats for their (unnecessarily/overly narrow) exclusive purposes… ignoring the opportunity that awaits us all…. The opportunity to TAKE OVER THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, creating international ripples simultaneously.

There is great value to the organizing that The Labor/Community Strategy Center does as per Eric Mann’s ZNet piece of today http://www.zmag.org/znet/viewArticle/22019. Indeed, it is essential work, AND truly inspirational. Witness this piece. However, there is a need to move in solidarity following another paradigm too.

And that is why I want to meet as soon as possible with the powers that be at The Labor/Community Strategy Center… in person… to discuss in confidence*… what can easily be done to transform California virtually overnight. And put a huge dent in the imperialist agenda of the U.S. simultaneously.

*The HOW (of implementation), for one.

With virtually no extra heartbeats required. And — definitely — requiring ZERO dinero.

Lots of stuff demands time, patience. But, as you very well know, mucho should have been/could have been done YESTERDAY.

Now it can be done, will be done. Thy will will be done.
