Sweatin’ Like a Hooker in a Cop Car: What You Can Do ASAP
SWEATIN’ LIKE A HOOKER IN A COP CAR
Posted primarily for those who’ve provided their imprimaturs for TOSCA

“Call me whore for the people, as I roar for the people, but be my pimp for the moment, please.” — Abbie Hoffman
Busted. I was just tryin’ to do business outside the box, but the powers that be — their enforcers — got me handcuffed. I think an anal-retentive progressive turned me in.
Look, I was just trying to serve the public, don’t be so judgmental.
Besides, regarding laws (I almost said respecting laws, but it didn’t sit right), let’s look at a little Proudhon, that 19th-century non-violent revolutionary, before they take me downtown:
“[Laws are] spider-webs for the powerful and the rich, chains that no steel can break for the small and weak, fishing nets in the hands of the government.”
And yet… TOSCA (our Taking Over the State of California in 2010) is legal. And it’s a non-violent revolutionary effort. Yes, revolutionary. This is the REVOLUTION that everyone was once yearning for/believing in, the radical upsetting of the cart which too many have lost sight of… in their growing cynicism or resignation or burnt-out mindset. Our anticipated watershed in history lost in the ocean of negativity which has engulfed us, defeated by the tsunami of incessant dashed expectations… has been revived! The thing is… its framework does not follow the paradigms that activists are used to… does non incorporate the imagery that they habitually embrace.
But habit, as Beckett said, is the great deadener. To resurrect Revolution (that’s possible)….
TOSCA is the first step up that road that will really lead to a REVOLUTION. For a delineation, see http://oxtogrind.org/archive/350 (Scroll down to the middle of the article where you’ll find #s 1-8, if you’re pressed for time.)
I’m in the cop car, and I will be taken away sweatin’ bullets, unless you flatten their tires, take the air out of their momentum.
What do you have to do?
As I approach people — as my people, your people, approach others on the streets, we need to show them a list of candidates. Thirteen people who will serve/function as Governor of the State of California in 2010. That would include a working figurehead Governor and a working figurehead Lt. Governor on the ticket. A ticket of candidates whose group photo could be eventually contrasted with the photos of individual candidates put forth my both major parties and all marginalized other parties for the statewide gubernatorial election.
Give me a list with or without the approval of the people who you put on the list. YOUR preferences… without necessarily being concerned with whether or not a given individual will play to the balcony, or play in Peoria or play poorly with the voters. Or whatever the practical concerns are in your mind.
They can be residents of California or not. Citizens of the U.S. or not. Willing to breathe the foul air in Sacramento on occasion or not.
A list from the top of my head in no special order (which could easily be replaced by another list in full):
1. Jeffrey St. Clair
2. Arundhati Roy
3. Bruce Anderson
4. Wallace J. Nichols
5. Willie Nelson or Justin Akers Chacon
6. Greg Moses
7. Chris Spannos
8. Glen Ford
9. Michael Parenti
10. Mike Davis* (working figurehead Guv)
11. Derrick Jensen
12. Dave Lindorff
13. Angela Davis* (working figurehead Lt. Guv)
*The Davis Ticket? One huge plus: They’re easy names to write in.
Just make sure that they’re all non-politicians, and that their hearts are in a perfect place. Oh yes, it’d also be nice if they all had a sense of humor.
Loving best in solidarity,

[If I don't get back to you within 24 hours tops, something's amiss.]
P.S. Surely the above group is preferable to what the 2010 counterparts to Gray Davis and Arnie S. will be. Preferable too to whoever the marginalized third parties will put forth in an effort only to plant seeds… considering the urgency concerning major issues. Especially since we will… oh Jeez… look at http://oxtogrind.org/archive/350 (#s 1-8, in the middle of the article), if you will, so I don’t have to go over old ground once again, please.
