Breaching the Choir

Breaching the Choir
by Oxz (Richard Martin Oxman)

“It should be possible to explain the laws of physics to a barmaid.” — Albert Einstein

“It should be possible to explain the dynamics of sexism to a physicist.” — The author’s mentor

I wish that Albert had chosen uneducated taxi driver instead of barmaid, but… the basic point he makes is a good one. So I will be as simple as pie (without vanilla ice cream on top) here.

WE’VE HAD ENOUGH CAFE TALK. ENOUGH DOCUMENTATION. ENOUGH GORGEOUS, SOCIALLY-CONSCIOUS CINEMATIC CREATIONS. ENOUGH PROTEST SONGS. ENOUGH PEACEFUL DEMONSTRATIONS AND WILD CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE, ENOUGH ARRESTS, ENOUGH BOOKS AND BOOK TOURS, ENOUGH ARTICLES, ENOUGH LECTURES AND SLIDE SHOWS. ENOUGH VOTING FOR AND BELIEVING IN DISINGENUOUS POLITICIANS (WHICH MEANS VIRTUALLY ALL POLITICIANS). ENOUGH TRUSTING THE ELECTORAL ARENA.

Enough, if it’s happening in lieu of efficacious action. Which means action following a new paradigm.

Preaching to the choir is fine for planting seeds, reinvigorating one’s audience, readers, viewers. Admirable and absolutely gorgeous at times, intellectually, aesthetically. Good socializing. Fun.

But the writers, speakers et al. who I might ask to read this have everything to gain — and too little to lose — by becoming VERY proactive respecting my plan for action, Taking Over the State of California (TOSCA). See “California Gubernatorial Election, 2010″ http://oxtogrind.org/archive/421 for an introduction.

How can I put this? [Pause.] We need a disruption of friendly relations.
