Marcello Will Know Keb’ Mo’
Marcello Will Know Keb’ Mo’ (HALF A DRAFT, unedited)
by Marcello’s Papi
Dedicated to all the metaphysical poets who get confused with blues dudes
“Somehow or another
Every soul has got to meet….”
Somehow or other we will have to clean the street
“… everyone likes a party,
… no one wants to clean….”
But, oh, this momentum, our Perpetual Blues Machine
Life is getting much too much unlike Life
So we must call up the bossman, show ‘em how to hike
So’s we can move ensemble, hand in hand with pride
And we will, don’t you worry, embrace all cries
‘Cause Marcello will sing Keb’ Mo’ and fly fly fly
Then we’ll climb that mountainside
With the sweet young-at-heart who… just…
Refuse to die with lies.
[Pause.]
Epilogue:
“I’m gonna make my world a better place
I’m gonna keep that smile on my face
I’m gonna teach myself how to understand
I’m gonna make myself a better man” — Keb’ Mo’ (whose other lyrics I borrowed from above)

+ what I have to say in private, in confidence…
= one of the many possibilities which can be sung next, done next… for a better world… in time.
