Revolution for Law Party
Dedicated to Leonard Peltier and all political prisoners… and others behind bars
by Arnold Pepper

“The First Amendment has been abridged and may soon be criminalized.” — Paul Craig Roberts

Roper: So now you’d give the Devil benefit of law?

More: Yes. What would you do? Cut a great road through the law to get after the Devil?

Roper: I’d cut down every law in England to do that!

More: (Roused and excited) Oh? (Advances on Roper) And when the last law was down, and the Devil turned round on you — where would you hide, Roper, the laws all being flat? (He leaves him) This country’s planted thick with laws from coast to coast — man’s laws, not God’s — and if you cut them down — and you’re just the man to do it — d’you really think you could stand upright in the winds that would blow then? (Quietly) Yes, I’d give the Devil benefit of law, for my own safety’s sake.

– Exchange between William Roper and Sir Thomas More in Robert Bolt’s A Man for All Seasons

This is NOT an article for those who do not shudder to their bones at the prospect of our losing subordination of government to law.

Based on the contact I’ve had with Paul Craig Roberts, I have some personal reservations about the man. However, his Security Fools (about our rule of law having been lost) is very worthwhile. I consider it not only essential reading for conscious, concerned citizens, but reading which demands action immediately. Action in solidarity regardless of the daunting odds, irrespective of whatever the majority of U.S. citizens may feel about torture, disproportionate domestic incarceration of minorities (denied due process, or not), the intentional bombing of civilians abroad, and U.S. legal immunity.

This is a cry for you to wake up, and do something together with one another — with me — so that we don’t see the dark descend so. So that we may see, feel what is happening, and make a difference. Whether you live in California or not. Whether or not you reside in this country. Even if an organization to which you belong prohibits the kind of action I am proposing, and you must, therefore, act as a private citizen.

We have lots of reasons to take hold of the reins, not the least of which has to do with needing to stop the ecocide which is killing us all. But it’s clear that if we want to live by law, justice… we must — as things stand — free all political prisoners, and set free ALL of those incarcerated for minor crimes, including minor players caught up in realm of our so-called Drug War. ASAP. For our white collar criminals who operate under cover of government protection, war profiteers and abominable characters who screw us all as per do us way more harm than the vast majority of those presently incarcerated — loose as they are on the streets and in their fortresses.

As long as such criminals* are immune to legal consequences, and hardly even — if at all — subject to the public glare… I’d say at least 9/10ths of those behind bars should be released. Our Prison Industrial Complex is not too big to fail.

*Sad to say this includes members of law enforcement, guards and the like who walk around unreformed, malformed. It certainly includes far too many politicians.

Stop the war criminality abroad first, then we can begin to talk about who should be incarcerated over here.

That is, if all anti-war protesters aren’t put behind bars before that along the lines of Paul Craig Roberts’ piece… with its penetrating, terrifying warning.

The author can be reached at He has a plan that is designed to eliminate our obsolete prison system, which he will discuss with one and all upon request. For starters, he urges everyone to contact the people at, and to let them know that he sent you their way.
