For Talent Agencies and Talent
by Richard Martin Oxman

I’ve created a unique opportunity for entertainers, especially comedians.

My TOSCA (Taking Over the State of California) plan mixes a serious personal agenda with an unprecedented plan for fun and profit… for upcoming talent. And I’m posting this piece in the hope that agencies (or performers themselves) will contact me about specifics.

In short, TOSCA intends to spearhead a campaign centered on Jimmy Kimmel as per http://oxtogrind.org/archive/518 (”Send In the Clowns or Send Up the Clowns”) , http://oxtogrind.org/archive/519 , http://oxtogrind.org/archive/520 , and http://oxtogrind.org/archive/521. It’s all subject to being tweaked so that what we do aligns with the purposes of each and every participant*, but the thrust of the whole shebang should be clear. To wit, we intend to make an impact in the electoral arena by going through a back door of sorts, by following a new paradigm for making a difference.

*For example, Jimmy Kimmel does not even have to necessarily be our point of departure (our centerpiece), although I consider him ideal for our purposes. [It should be noted that the politics of any given participant do not have to align with my views or anyone else's. Jimmy and I are different attitudinally on many issues, I'm sure. No importante, as Guillermo would say.]

HOW WILL THIS AFFECT THE CAREERS OF ENTERTAINERS PARTICIPATING?

If you glance at http://oxtogrind.org/archive/521 (”Pacquiao Paradigm’), you’ll note that there’s a tentative list of “candidates” for our gubernatorial coalition. Any performer on that list will stand to receive national exposure — certainly a great spotlight in California — on a regular basis from April through October (at the very least)… with opportunities for interviews, invitations, performance, etc. I see this as an unparalleled occasion for increasing one’s profile, and making invaluable connections.

That’s it in a nutshell.

I have a great many singular benefits/details to share upon request.

Thanks for your kind consideration,

P.S. The late great Howard Zinn, Gustavo Esteva (Mexico), Henry Giroux (Canada), Marie Trigona (Argentina), Devinder Sharma (India), Peter Tatchell (U.K.) and a host of high profile figures worldwide have given their imprimaturs for (an earlier version of) TOSCA… so the above isn’t a half-baked proposal. I’ve transformed the original approach to fit the realities we face at present. For what it’s worth, performers should know that their participation will be a valuable contribution to socially-conscious/environmentally-conscious efforts, honoring citizen responsibility.
