The Thrust of What Must Happen

Note: This is an archived site. All articles and sections were written for specific audiences, for particular purposes. Without the proper context, a given piece can be puzzling or off-putting. Please only read what is directly recommended to you. What’s below is UNEDITED. It’s full of holes, as they say. BUT… its thrust is totally spot-on-target. If the law said that secondary smoke was okay, you wouldn’t say “Oh, what the hell, let’s go with that.” Certainly, you wouldn’t put up with people coming into your home and blowing smoke in your face. And Wi-Fi technology provides a danger that far exceeds what that represents. Imagine, if you will, a neighbor blasting their musical preference at intolerable decibels toward your living room window… with no legal consequences. 24×7. THAT’S what this is about… x1000+.

This is written primarily for those who will be attending our event on Sunday at 1PM. But it’s also for strangers I might encounter between now (Friday, 8/20) and then… who don’t know what’s flying… through the air. What’s in the air for us, meaning… what’s in store for us… unless we act.

“You want to embrace Ostrich Syndrome, be my guest. But I gotta tell ‘ya… radiation goes through the sand.” — the author to a neighbor

The Thrust of What Must Happen
Dedicated to overcoming our real enemies… resignation, apathy, cynicism, ignorance and atomization
by Richard Martin Oxman and Emmylou

“The International Association of Fire Fighters’ position on locating cell towers commercial wireless infrastructure on fire department facilities, as adopted by its membership in August, 2004, is that the IAFF oppose the use of fire stations as base stations for towers and/or antennas for the conduction of cell phone transmissions until a study with the highest scientific merit and integrity on health effects of exposure to low-intensity RF/MW radiation is conducted and it is proven that such sitings are not hazardous to the health of our members.” — from literature the author received 8/19/10 at a local fire station… where, inexplicably, their building boasts a transmitting antenna

“I have no doubt in my mind that at the present time, the greatest polluting element in the earth’s environment is the proliferation of electromagnetic fields. I consider that to be far greater, on a global scale, than warming, and the increase in chemical elements in the environment.” — An instructive, stunning mouthful from Robert O. Becker, M.D. which we ignore at our peril… at our guaranteed doom.

The placement of antennas, mobile phone masts and high-voltage power lines should be negotiated between industry actors, public authorities and residents’ associations in order to minimize health risks and legal action cases. This will also ensure that EMF-transmitting devices are kept clear of schools, crèches, retirement homes and health care institutions. In addition to this, the House recommends that mobile telephone operators should negotiate to share infrastructure in order to reduce “the exposure of the public to EMFs.”

Aggressive marketing campaigns by telephone operators, including “the sale of mobile phones designed solely for children or free call time packages aimed at teenagers” are also condemned by MEPs.European Parliament Resolution, 2009

The above (in boldface) was taken from http://www.emrpolicy.org/regulation/international/index.htm.

How does one reconcile that with the fact that there are plans — involving Santa Clara, San Mateo and Santa Cruz counties — to create a 1,500 square mile Wi-Fi region? Ditto regarding PG&E’s urging consumers to buy Wi-Fi (compatible) counterparts to the new meters throughout their homes, from oven to refrigerator? Wi-Fi setups have a much greater downside, are much more damaging (radiation-wise) than cell towers… which are bad enough… especially considering the slated proliferation (in absolute numbers), and the inevitable increase in power for each unit in operation.

This is madness. [Pause.] To put it mildly.

If the above isn’t enough for you to contact me immediately, to discuss what options are available to us in solidarity, you might want to glance at the three links grouped together near the bottom of http://oxtogrind.org/archive/698

The European Pariament resolution with which I opened this article passed with 559 yes votes, 8 abstentions, and only 22 no votes! And yet I constantly come across people — sheeple — who lecture me about how the documentation isn’t in, underscoring that they know that nothing’s really known for sure about the whole shebang. Right, the fact that the government of France went to the enormous expense of pulling out all of their Wi-Fi set ups from public libraries and schools is NOT cause to pause, and reconsider our horrid momentum.

Right, with the documented downsides of Wi-Fi taking over our lives from morning till night in every possible direction — making it virtually impossible to escape from the onslaught of radiation — we need another source of radiation in our lives. Right, we absolutely should embrace the insertion of PG&E’s “Smart Meters” into our homes. “Smart Meters” whose safety has been determined by a government agency which is NOT a health agency, the CPUC. An agency which has quite a checkered past. [Details upon request.] An agency which — using the health guidelines of another government agency which is NOT a health agency, the FCC — insists upon using only one criterion for determining the safety of the meters, the thermal factor.

In short, if the meters don’t heat up our organs, we’re okay. [Pause.] I don’t think so. Meaning, exposure to a constant stream of additional radiation — the effects of radiation being cumulative, as you know — is an extremely bad thing. Unacceptable, to say the least.

Without advocating violence, or disregard of the law, clearly our challenge is to get together to figure out what we can do to save ourselves. For what the powers that be have in store for us will, unquestionably, maim and kill us in unprecedented numbers.

Ellen Pirie, Supervisor for District 2 in Santa Cruz County, pointed out to me today that she believed the enactment of an ordinance banning “Smart Meters” would do no good, ultimately, because PG&E and Wellington Energy and the CPUC did not have to honor ordinances. I respectfully disagree. To force the powers that be to disregard our wishes (especially when manifested in such a form) potentially creates a PR nightmare for them. And they are very concerned with the image they project.

We have to try everything. We are obliged to bring out the creativity in one another. To NOT lie down and die. To NOT be bent over and be raped. With a hatchet held to our hearts.

Forgive my language, but that is what’s happening. And the thrust of what I am suggesting here must happen.

Contact the author at any hour at 831-688-8038 in Aptos, California. Or email tosca.2010@yahoo.com. This biz about “Smart Meters” and electrosmog, for all its importance, is just the tip of the iceberg (that’s melting us all). There are lots of issues that beg to be discussed, and — in fact — because of the “deadlines” we have in several realms, the main matter here needs to be addressed simultaneously with other concerns. Whatever. We must move in solidarity following a fresh paradigm immediately.

“If I were in Las Vegas, I’d bet that the cancer rate on Jennifer Drive is ten times the national average. But I’m not a gambling man these days… so I don’t go to Vegas, and I’m not gonna bet on the bad advice comiing from the CPUC. I’m going to act.” — the author to a neighbor

NOTE ADDED 8/21 (on the eve of our family hosting a meeting of neighbors, to discuss PG&E’s attempt to force “Smart Meters” on us with the imprimatur of the CPUC): It is VERY important that citizens understand that we are obliged to deal with the fact that government agencies — supposedly looking out for our interests — are not doing their job. This point MUST be embraced on a level that rises far beyond the issue of “Smart Meters.” To give you a sound bite about what I mean, I ask readers to glance at http://www.zcommunications.org/mississippi-shrimpers-refuse-to-trawl-f earing-oil-dispersants-by-dahr-jamail …which shows that what the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has recently given a green light about in the Gulf deserves a different response than what is being generated at present. WE CAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS SORT OF THING IN ALL REALMS. WE MUST. Make the heartbeats to talk to me, please.
